Iteration 1: Envision phase

  • Description: I will be partnering with CU Anschutz to bring better accessibility and quantity to students who are working towards being orthodontists. I will be helping make 3D rendered orthodontic tools that will be put into a 3D environment so students can have access to it from home or anywhere they are. We will also be helping create a variety of 3D teeth that will be used in a 3D environment but will also be 3D printed. By doing these 3D renders of tools and teeth students will be able to get their training and education even when unprecedented times occur like the covid pandemic. It will also lower the cost of materials needed for skills labs and create a variety of materials for them as well.
  • Objective: To create work tools in 3D environments and develop and easier way of getting practice instruments to students.
  • Purpose: To help students that are unable to go to lab due to circumstances such as COVID.
  • Scope/boundaries: Developing realistic looking tools and teeth
  • Target users: Orthodontic students in the medical school of CU Anschutz
  • Key benefits: Being able to learn and interact with object anywhere as well as have them at a lower cost.
  • Competition: Other companies that make 3D models for teaching but they are at a higher cost
  • Differentiation: 16 weeks to complete working models in a 3D environment.
