Stream Labs Exploration:

I explored the stream lab a little bit. I especially liked the chat feature which makes it simple to add the chat on to the screen. I also looked at some layouts and they looked very appealing. Sadly right now I am unable to pay to use them but hopefully in the future. You can go and check out the added chat to the stream in my uploads on youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/StealthtitanMC/videos

Group Live Stream Week 1

For the group live stream we will be doing Hunger Games in Minecraft while we have Erik being the broadcaster for the entire game. Everyone will be individually live streaming but Erik will have everyone’s stream in one place in order to make commentary but we will also be able to spectate once we die in game. We scheduled to go live around 8-8:15pm on Wednesday and play about an hour with everyone, possibly doing a couple of rounds of the Hunger games.

After live streaming week 1 with the group I think the game went very well. It was fun and entertaining. Although there were some aspects that needed to be updated on the map my biggest concern was my own stream. I realized I needed get my obs a little more set up since it was my first time using discord on stream I wasn’t sure how to set it up and it made a mess, I was also using Stream Labs and although it works well with my Xbox stream I think I’m going to switch back to OBS for the Minecraft streams. Although the stream went well I need to set up my OBS for next week a little better and get it running so that I can mute discord and talk to the stream at times.

Things to fix for next week:

    Switch to OBS

Set up discord so it can be muted

Test stream discord to see if it works out better

Individual Live Stream: Week 4

For week 4 I finally got the video streamer box in and was able to start streaming game content officially. I started streaming a game called Little Nightmares. It looked really interesting so I decided to start playing, plus it had puzzle problem solving which I thought would be good for streaming. Since problem solving can be done easier with more people, it is also something I have seen be more successful than other games. The first stream didn’t get any main view during streaming but I noticed people watched it afterwards and it got a good amount of views. It was also fun having someone in the stream chat to communicate with as I played, it was a good stream overall.

On the technical side I decided to keep my face a secret using a mask I have but still have a face camera. The lighting was made to be dark but with colored light in the back just to make things feel a little spooky to pair with the game. But everything was working well with the stream. There wasn’t lag that I noticed with the new box I got, everything worked out well,  I also used the overlays I made and I think they looked really good. I archived the stream on my youtube channel and it can be watched there.

Individual Live Stream: Week 3

For week 3 I am still waiting on the video stream box. I am unable to stream anything with video or games from my computer but I did find something that could work for this week. My roommate needed to record something for her Chinese class so we decided to combine both her assignment with my streaming, we ended up live streaming us making dumplings. It was actually a lot of fun. We were able to get some of my friends just to watch who are not in the state so they could enjoy that time with us. They decided to chat with us through messages as they watched but overall it was a good way to communicate with us since they are so far away.

Individual Live Stream: Week 2

For week 2 still couldn’t stream officially but I did take the suggestion from class and got myself a streaming video box. I will be able to stream gaming content from my Xbox to OBS so the stream is much more smooth. Hopefully this will allow me to stream more frequently and more smoothly than when I was just trying to stream off my computer. Sadly this will take some time to get to me so I wont be able to start streaming from it until it gets here.
